Children’s Dance Tuition
Wee Tots (18months - 2.5yrs)
Our fun and imaginative ‘Wee Tots’ creative movement class introduces your child to dance and music with parent/carer assistance. Classes are based on themes such as the garden, winter, the Gruffalo, where children will develop co-ordination, spatial awareness and creativity.
Note: Parent/Carer participation required
Mini Movers (2.5 - 4yrs)
Mini Movers introduces new movements to the student, in turn facilitating creative ideas, and the beginnings of technique, posture, and alignment, all while placing an emphasis on self-expression. Creative ideas are explored in pairs and groups, discovering how to work together. We start to learn new moves through short dance exercises, sequences, and games to develop and investigate new ways to express ourselves.
Ballet is the foundation of all dance training. This fun yet challenging genre begins with our pre-school classes where the basic steps and positions of the arms and feet are taught through imaginative movement. As the student progresses they will partake in syllabus (RAD and ISTD) and non-syllabus classes that focus on technique, more complex movement skills, building confidence and self-esteem. Examinations are not compulsory however students are encouraged to take examinations when they have reached the required standard.
Pre-School/Nursery (2.5yrs upwards)
Tap is an enjoyable and rhythmical form of dance that encourages students to develop musicality and performance. From the learning of basic beats and steps to more complex steps and exercises, this is a chance to make music with your feet! Examinations are not compulsory however students are encouraged to take the ISTD examinations when they have reached the required standard.
Grade 1 (Year2/3)
Modern Theatre allows the dancer to explore the various styles and quality required for performing to different pieces of music whilst developing core strength and flexibility. From natural movements such as running, jumping and skipping, through to the exploration of line and style, students are trained to become disciplined and versatile dancers. Examinations are not compulsory however students are encouraged to take the ISTD examinations when they have reached the required standard.
Grade 1 (Year2/3)
Teen Jazz (11yrs+)
This is a fun, high energy class that explores the expressive styles of jazz. Students will develop a foundation of the basic jazz movements including jumps, turns and across the floor movements, finishing with a routine that is progressed throughout the term. This class incorporates various styles from musical theatre, to street, to commercial, to lyrical.
Bring It Boys (5yrs+)
A fun and funky class aimed for boys, focusing on different dance styles including street moves such as break dance, and locking & popping. This class also works on rhythm, flexibility and strength.
